CEM-SHIELD
CEM-SHIELD Integral waterproofing liquid admixture for concrete and mortar which is used for to minimise permeability and increase the waterproofing properties of concrete and cement sand mortars for critical applications like roof slabs and screeds, basements, external plastering, bathroom floors & walls, water tanks, sumps, drains etc.

Health and safety instructions
CEM-SHIELD does not fall into the hazard classifications of current regulations. However, it should not be swallowed or allowed to come into contact with skin and eyes. Suitable protective gloves and goggles should be worn. Splashes on the skin should be removed with water. In case of contact with eyes rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. CEM-SHIELD is water based and non- flammable.
Cleaning and disposal
Spillages of CEM-SHIELD should be absorbed onto sand, earth or vermiculite and transferred to suitable containers. Remnants or vermiculite and transferred to suitable containers. Remnants should be hosed down with large quantities of water. The disposal of excess or waste material should be carried out in accordance with local legislation under the guidance of the local waste regulatory authority.
CEM-SHIELD is a dark brown liquid based on PC and lignosulphonates which mixes readily with water and therefore disperses evenly. CEM-SHIELD waterproofs by improving the quality of the concrete or mortar. It reduces the water demand for required workability and minimises segregation and bleeding. Thus it is more efficient compared to traditional powder water proofers as its use results in two fold improvement of concrete or mortar.

The optimum dosage of CEM-SHIELD to meet specific requirements is 200 ml for 50 kg cementitious material in the concrete mortar mix. CEM-SHIELD is mixed into the concrete or mortar. Water cement ratio less than (<0.5).
Over dosages
Dosage outside the normal range quoted above can be used to meet particular mix requirements. Over dosage may cause delay in the setting time and segregation. Contact Brij Additives for advice in these cases.
CEM-SHIELD is available in 1 litre, 5 litre, 10 litre, 20 litre and 235 litre drum.
CEM-SHIELD has a minimum shelf life of 24 months provided the temperature is kept within the range of 20C to 500 C. Should the temperature of the product fall outside this range then contact local Brij Additives office for advice.
